Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
Five years of management/leadership experience with BSN OR three years of management /leadership experience with MHA
Three years experience in Case Management
Understanding of financial statements to manage within a budget, analyze trends, and make recommendations
Excellent communication skills
Leadership ability to develop management professionals, team leaders, and non-exempt staff and to foster and support a positive environment of servant leadership, service enthusiasm, teamwork, calculated risk taking, high morale, people development and professionalism
Deductive reasoning skills to anticipate issues that adversely impact the function of the department and solve problems
Proficiency in the use of personal computers and associated software applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, email functions)
Decision-making, delegating, and technical writing skills
Professional attitude, cultural sensitivity and emotional self restraint
Good judgment in handling difficult situations/conversations
Good organizational, time management, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s in Healthcare Administration
Professional certification or advanced degree in Case Management
Direct experience in hospital systems
Experience in acute care case management
Job Description:
The Director of Case Management assumes responsibility for strategic planning, direction and overall accountability for department(s) comprised of multiple functional areas. The Director of Case Management independently makes decisions that could seriously affect the overall division and/or Ochsner Health System’s financial objectives, performance objectives and strategic results, provides oversight and administration of standard operating policies and procedures required for success in the division, and develops and is accountable for budget for department.
