Job Requirements:
Education
Required: Bachelor's degree (e.g., BA, BS, BSN, BSW)
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing of equivalent
Major
Required: Nursing or Social Work
Preferred: Nursing
Experience
Required: 3-5 years of management experience in a hospital setting, at least 3 years of acute case management experience
Preferred: 5-7 years of management experience in a hospital setting, at least 3 years of acute case management experience in a Director or similar role
Skills
Required: Strong verbal and written communication skills, knowledge of CMS and JCAHO regulations
Preferred: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, knowledg of CMS and JCAHO regulations, ability to critically analyze and intrepret data
Licensure/Certifications
Required: Licensed BSW in the state of Texas or licensed RN
Preferred: Licensed RN in the state of Texas
Job Description:
Oversees and provides both the daily and the long-term direction of the Case Management Department to ensure the department meets the Revenue Cycle Team, and departmental goals and objectives for operational, strategic, quality improvement, financial and other performance measures. Ensure coordination of care, utilization management, social work, discharge planning and other related Case Management functions for St. Joseph Regional Health Center (SJRHC) are effective, efficient, stakeholder friendly, and financially viable. Accountable for the management, measurement, and continuous quality improvement of length of stay, avoidable days, clinical denials, resource utilization management, and other related SJHS Strategic goals in order to ensure effective, efficient, and quality outcomes. Provide consultative direction for Case Management functions to other entities within St. Joseph Health System as directed by the Vice President - Revenue Management.
