Job Requirements:
Current FL RN license
Bachelor’s degree require, Masters preferred
5+ years case management and discharge planning experience in an acute hospital setting
Knowledge of managed care and capitation
2+ years in a Director/Manager role over Case Management/Utilization Review strongly preferred
Job Description:
Assesses internal and external customer needs and develops annual departmental scope of care/service, including improvement goals that support the organization's mission, vision, values and important functions.
Develops annual departmental capital and operating budgets to support the departmental goals and organization's mission.
Ensures staff education and compliance with all appropriate administrative, Departmental, Infection Control, Safety, Risk Management and Human Resources policies and procedures and with regulatory/accrediting requirements.
Recommends space and other resources needed by the department.
Consistently demonstrates ability to utilize nursing personnel to their potential, setting professional standards on nursing unit, communicating expectations to staff, assuring adequate competent staffing on a daily basis.
Participates in the selection of outside sources for needed services if applicable.
Consistently uses initiative and sound judgment in delegating responsibilities.
Consistently demonstrates an understanding of the process of change and takes the initiative in planning and implementing change.
Fosters teamwork and builds mutual understanding, respect and confidence among nursing personnel and other departments on a continual basis.
Immediately communicates with Administrator on call for issues requiring administrative assistance or decision making.
