Job Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree Health Information Management or related field required. Master's degree In related field preferred.
Certifications: Registered Health Information Administration (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) required.
Experience: 6 - 8 Years Health Information and Clinical Documentation in an acute care facility required.
Skills: Excellent communication (both oral and written), organization, decision making, leadership skills; Knowledge of CMS, NYSDOH and Joint Commission Regulatory Standards related to Record of Care, Treatment and
Services; Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT Coding Guidelines and DRG Reimbursement Payment Systems required
Job Description:
The Director of Health Information Management and Clinical Documentation Improvement is responsible for the overall management of the Health Information Management (HIM) and Clinical Documentation Improvement Department (CDI) through the development, implementation and evaluation of policies and procedures related to coding, reimbursement, clinical documentation improvement, documentation requirements, training and management of personnel, chart completion, maintenance and accessibility of confidential, secure and accurate medical records and other health information data. Responsible for leading and directing HIM and CDI Department throughout the healthcare delivery system while promoting compliance, best practice and education in all areas under the Scope of Service.
